Join us on 17th November for a Calligraphy Workshop at the International Library with our very own Viv Mott.
Viv aims to cover a traditional written alphabet in the morning, then in the afternoon progress with a large decorated initial letter using colour (and, time permitting, maybe a spot of gold).
We will be doing traditional Western (European) calligraphy, not Chinese style Calligraphy! The Workshop is for all levels from complete beginner to more experienced as everyone works separately at their own speed. The aim is to have a go, have fun and experience the fascination of "slow letters" - but be warned, it can become addictive!!!
Cost: € 12 which includes Starter Kit to keep, with penholders, nibs, a special rubber, fineliner and paintbrush (we‘ll all be working with the same tools). Any other necessary items will be provided by Viv.
Anyone who wants to try out their own calligraphy equipment is welcome to bring it along.
The International Library is at Mecum Strasse 10, 40223 Düsseldorf and can be reached on 704, U73, U72, U71—(get off at Himmelgeister Strasse—then a 200 m walk from there)
As this will be a long day bring a snack and soft drink with you as we will be taking a short break at lunch time.
When: Thursday, 17th November 2022
Time: 09:50 for 10:00—16:00
Please register with: Pat H by Monday, November 14th 2022
