It was at the AGM in February that our Honorary President, HM Consul General Susan Speller, announced her intention to host afternoon  tea at her Residence as part of our Club’s 70th Birthday celebrations.

She couldn’t have picked a more perfect day for the event – the sun was shining and spring was definitely in the air when 26 ladies converged on the Residence.

Quoting from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night: “if music be the food of love, play on” Susan invited us all to tuck into the wonderful spread – much of which had been contributed by Joyce !

You had only to look around the room to see and close your eyes to hear that everybody was thoroughly  enjoying themselves.  Time flew by all too quickly and suddenly it was time to leave

Tricia rounded off the afternoon by thanking Susan, whom she had first met in an amateur dramatics group in the early 80’s when Susan  worked at the Consulate.

Tricia had planned to use the same quote from Twelfth Night, but swiftly came up with ‘All’s Well That Ends Well’ that links perfectly with the Shakespeare play that we will be seeing at the Globe Theatre in Neuss next month.
